Yes, but extremely hard and you may find yourself having a problem filled life.

Omitting something is not lieing.
If you substitute the truth with something else you are lieing.
If asked about the truth and you deny it with an intent to deceive you are lieing.
People are mistaken at times--thats not the same as lieing.

Yes, when I was younger I would tell my father I needed something "female personal" so he would give me money w/o question

You have to have an intent to decieve in order for it to be a lie. That is key.

It's wrong, but at times it's a protection mechanism.

Born. Babies lie out of fear before they even know what a lie is. They fear getting into trouble so they lie. They don't want to go to bed, so they lie and say they have all kinds of things they want to do before. They want more of something so they lie and say they didn't have any.
I don't understand how they could learn that?
They can learn to increase the degree of which they lie.

It may be in human nature to lie...but that doesn't mean you have to.
I choose not to lie but that doesn't mean that I never have.
I think the idea of "human nature" is a little overrated. Sure it guides a lot of thing but I'm a nurture or nature type person.

very little if any at all. Once you embellish a little bit the truth has become a lie.

Actually yeah, when I was younger people assumed I had money when I was a kid b/c my parents had money. All I ever had was 1 or 2 big bills and then a stack of one's. It use to always work.

Exaggeration is making something seem more important than it really is and
Bullshitting is a bluff or a super exaggerated story.

Depending on what the situation is.Cheat on your wife, don't lie. Tell your child there is no Santa Clause, lie. (imagination is a child's playground)

Lying is a learned trait, b/c we(as children) see what happens when you make a mistake or do soemthing wrong. And in order not to get disciplined we lie.

I think it's diverse and evolves over time.
i would like to add, I find high value in revealing the truth and the relative ramifications. I tell the truth unless i do not know the truth, then i tell the best version that i know.
